Please Light A Candle In Your Window For The Victims

Spread the love

Sainte GenevieveI am in mourning and sorrow for all victims of this evil incarnate that rained upon this beautiful city.

I would like to ask you to light a candle and place it in your window as many Parisians are doing in remembrance of those whose lives were lost and the many still struggling to survive their injuries.

The patron saint of Paris, Saint Genevieve, who is credited with saving Paris several times is seen with her candle too in this icon.

Paris has suffered many times in the past from famine, the plague, floods, war, several invasions, and the Nazi occupation, where many  innocent Jewish adults and children along  with French resistance fighters were sent to their deaths in concentration camps.

My heart is too heavy to compose and write today all that I am feeling, as my words could not do it justice. May all of our candles illuminate the darkness that surrounds those in their deepest suffering. Hugs to you all.

  1. Will do, Cherry. Am keeping up on the news and stories coming out of Paris and around the world about the attacks. Congratulations on the bravery of the citizens there for continuing to live as they would before the attacks. Life must continue, even if we don’t know when or where we will be cut down. To stop living means to give up the fight; however, we must fight the evil that surrounds us. I am glad that the victims’ profiles are being made public.

    1. Thank you Pam for your comment. I certainly agree that we must indeed get out again and do what we enjoy, rather than stay in out of fear. More vigilant yes and each of us may have different ways of dealing with our fears, that may include changing routines or activities to feel a sense of safety as needed to reduce anxiety. Hopefully the politicos will implement restrictions on many here already identified as radicalised and deport as needed. Hugs
